New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a shocking turn of events, Delhi Police have uncovered that bomb threat emails sent to two schools in Rohini were not the work of criminals, but the desperate acts of students trying to delay their exams due to lack of preparation. After tracking the IP addresses, police identified the culprits, who turned out to be students from the same school. They were quickly counselled and let off with warnings. The bomb scare incidents have sparked widespread concern, with former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal calling for urgent measures to protect students from psychological harm and academic disruption.

The Delhi Police Special Cell’s investigation revealed the shocking truth: the threat emails were sent by two students from the same school, both hoping to postpone their exams. The police stated, "After thorough investigation, we discovered that the bomb threat emails came from two different students of the same school who wanted to stop their exams because they weren’t prepared."

The two students were soon identified and brought in for questioning. Both admitted to the hoax and were released after being counseled, with their parents receiving stern warnings. This alarming episode began on December 14, when a bomb threat email was traced to a student from a private school in Paschim Vihar. Police tracked the IP address and quickly pinpointed the student's home. Upon questioning, the student confessed to sending the threat, and after a counseling session, was let off with a warning to his parents about his behavior.

The bomb threat frenzy continued across Delhi on December 14 and 17, as more schools received similar emails. In fact, on December 13, a total of 30 schools across the city were targeted by the hoax threats, causing widespread panic. Amid this chaos, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal raised serious concerns about the psychological toll these recurring bomb threats could have on students. He warned that such incidents could derail academic progress and impact the mental well-being of children if left unchecked. In a bid to prevent future threats, the Delhi High Court, on November 19, directed the Delhi Government and Police to come up with a robust action plan, including a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to address bomb threats and related emergencies. The court set a deadline of eight weeks for the completion of this plan.
