New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): In an extraordinary display of dedication, Delhi Police head constables Seema Devi and Suman Hooda, part of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit in the Outer North District, successfully reunited 104 missing children with their families over the past nine months. This remarkable achievement was accomplished under Operation Milap, which aims to combat child trafficking and locate missing children.

The officers undertook extensive journeys to remote regions in Haryana, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, overcoming significant challenges such as language barriers, outdated photographs, and earning the trust of local communities. Despite these hurdles, their determination to reunite families never wavered.

Seema Devi, a mother herself, spoke about the emotional weight of these cases, empathizing deeply with the parents of missing children. Both officers highlighted their reliance on local police and cyber tools to locate children when conventional methods proved insufficient.

One particularly noteworthy case involved a 13-year-old girl who had gone missing and was eventually found working as a domestic helper in Noida. The breakthrough came after her brother reported receiving suspicious phone calls from her using various numbers. Through persistence and meticulous investigation, the officers tracked her down and reunited her with her family.

The success of these officers underscores the critical role law enforcement plays in addressing child trafficking and locating missing children. In a country like India, where millions of children go missing annually due to various factors such as elopement and lack of parental care, their efforts stand out as a beacon of hope. Their commitment has not only brought joy to numerous families but also serves as an inspiring reminder of the impact dedicated individuals can have on society.
