Arvind Kejriwal’s 'Sanjeevani Yojana' Announced to Benefit the Needy, Watch Video for Details
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a big announcement. Today, on December 18, in a press conference at 1 pm, he announced the 'Sanjeevani Yojana'. This scheme is specifically related to the health care of the elderly and aims to provide free treatment to all citizens above 60 years of age in Delhi.
During the press conference, Kejriwal said, this is a good news for all our elderly people in Delhi. Our government will ensure free treatment for all the elderly in government and private hospitals. This scheme will be implemented as soon as the government is formed after the elections. This is my guarantee.
Under the Sanjeevani Yojana, all the elderly people above the age of 60 years in Delhi will be provided free treatment in government or private hospitals, the entire cost of which will be borne by the Delhi government. The registration process for this scheme will start soon, in which Aam Aadmi Party workers will go door-to-door to register eligible elderly people. To make this process simple and accessible, the elderly will not need to go anywhere. After the registration is completed, all eligible citizens will be issued official ID cards related to the scheme, so that they can avail the benefits of free medical facilities.
Kejriwal appealed to the public and said that this scheme will not discriminate in any way between the rich and the poor in the society. He also added that the only expectation from the elderly of Delhi is that they give their blessings on the day of election as a support to AAP. This announcement of Sanjeevani Yojana is being considered as a big electoral bet of AAP before the assembly elections, which promises to bring revolutionary changes in the field of health facilities.
