New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party has suffered a major setback before the assembly elections in Delhi. Seelampur MLA Abdul Rehman has resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party. He has taken this step after not getting a ticket from Seelampur again. However, in his resignation, Abdul Rehman has alleged that the party has constantly ignored the rights of Muslims by getting entangled in power politics.

Aam Aadmi Party had released its first list of candidates a day earlier. In this, the ticket of sitting MLA Abdul Rehman from Seelampur was cut. Chaudhary Zubair Ahmed was made the candidate in his place. Just 24 hours after this, Abdul Rehman accused the party and announced to leave the primary membership. Seelampur MLA Abdul Rehman resigned from the primary membership of the party and alleged that the party is entangled in power politics. Because of this, the party ignored the rights of Muslims. He also attacked party convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Abdul Rehman wrote that Arvind Kejriwal always did his politics by running away from the issues of the people. That is why I am leaving the party, but will continue to fight for justice and rights.

The Seelampur MLA was angry with the party for the past one month. It started from the day Zubair Ahmed joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Since then, speculations were being made that Abdul Rehman might leave the Aam Aadmi Party and join the Congress. In fact, on October 29, Abdul Rehman resigned from the post of head of the minority unit of the Aam Aadmi Party. Its connection was believed to be with Zubair Ahmed joining the party. After this, Abdul Rehman also wrote a post on social media that this decision has been taken in view of the growing differences in opinions.
