Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal recently met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to present a series of development demands for Gidderbaha.

In a tweet, Badal outlined the key issues he raised, seeking the Union Government’s commitment on various initiatives for the region. His requests included the construction of a railway overpass and underpass on the Bathinda-Sriganganagar line in Gidderbaha, the town's inclusion in the AMRUT 2 and Swachh Bharat schemes for infrastructure improvements such as water supply, sewage, street lighting, and parks, and the allocation of housing for BPL families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Additionally, Badal requested 15,000 solar-powered tube wells for Gidderbaha under the PM Kusum scheme, irrigation channel support for 50 villages under CADA, and the establishment of a new rural bank branch in a Gidderbaha village. Expressing gratitude to Amit Shah, he noted the Home Minister's commitment to swiftly implementing these projects. As the BJP candidate, Badal emphasized his dedication to advancing Gidderbaha’s development under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and the Union Government.
