Dhaka (The Uttam Hindu): Anti-Hindu activities in Bangladesh show no signs of abating. Bangladesh Prime Minister Mohammad Yunus is allegedly working towards making the country "Hindu-free." Reports suggest that the Home Ministry and Public Service Commission have issued an order barring Hindus from being appointed to higher positions within the police force, ranging from constables to senior posts. As a result, applications from more than 1,500 Hindu candidates have been rejected.

It is noteworthy that since Sheikh Hasina’s departure from power, targeted actions against the Hindu community in Bangladesh have reportedly intensified. Over 100 Hindu police officers, including those holding ranks such as Assistant Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Police, and DIG, have been dismissed. Reports indicate that their positions are being filled by individuals with extremist leanings, particularly members of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Additionally, the appointments of approximately 79,000 policemen are set to be cancelled. The recruitment process for these positions began last October, with the next phase scheduled to start in January. This comes amid ongoing attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, including targeted assaults on religious sites, establishments, and individuals within the community.
