World’s First AI-Written Newspaper Hits the Press – Here’s How It Was Created

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The rapidly growing technology has made every work easy in today's time. Now news is being written in newspapers with the help of AI. This is the first time in the world when a news publication has got the entire newspaper written and distributed by Artificial Intelligence.

This newspaper is an Italian daily newspaper named Il Foglio. About 29000 copies of it are sold every day. This report has been published by AFP. It is not that this is being planned to be done in one day. The publication is going to do this for the next one month. Il Foglio says that it is the first newspaper in the world to print a newspaper made completely with Artificial Intelligence. On Tuesday, March 18, it started preparing a daily AI edition of four pages in print and online along with its normal edition. The paper included about 22 articles and three editorials.

According to the report, about 20 journalists of the newspaper ask OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot to write a story on a particular topic in a particular tone. After this, this AI software prepares the article using the information received from the Internet. The articles published by the paper this week with the help of AI include an analysis of the speeches of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, an editorial on the recent phone call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, and a fashion story. Claudio Serasa, director of this newspaper, said that they have conducted an experiment "to revive journalism, not to destroy it". He further said, "Its purpose is twofold. On the one hand, to put theory into practice, on the other hand, it is to test ourselves and thus understand what are the limits of AI.
