Rekha Gupta's ₹1 Lakh Crore Budget: Women, Yamuna and Healthcare Take Center Stage

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has presented a historic budget of Rs 1 lakh crore, marking a 31.5% increase from the previous year. This budget aims to address crucial developmental challenges in Delhi, with a focus on transparency and efficiency.
Key Highlights of the Budget:
Women's Empowerment: Rs 5,100 crore allocated for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, providing Rs 2,500 monthly to eligible women.
Yamuna Cleaning: Rs 9,000 crore allocated for cleaning the Yamuna river and addressing seepage issues.
Healthcare: Rs 2,144 crore allocated for Ayushman Yojana, providing free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.
Infrastructure: Rs 28,000 crore allocated for capital expenditure, doubling the previous year's spending.
Education: Rs 100 crore allocated for the 'CM Shri Schools' initiative.
Environment: Rs 300 crore allocated to tackle pollution, with an additional Rs 506 crore for the environment and forest department.
Gupta emphasized the government's commitment to improving healthcare services, promoting alternative healthcare through AYUSH and cleaning the Yamuna river, which is considered a cultural heritage.
