Hisar (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic incident unfolded in Patel Nagar, Hisar, where 50-year-old shopkeeper Rajkumar Grover alias Raju was found hanging in his house. The discovery was made when his wife, who had gone to her maternal home in Bhiwani repeatedly tried calling him but received no response. Concerned, she asked a neighbor to check on him. Upon arriving at the house, the neighbor found the door locked from inside but noticed the key lying outside. Upon entering, she was shocked to find Rajkumar hanging from the ceiling fan. Police were immediately informed and they arrived at the scene to take down the body and send it for postmortem.

According to police reports, Rajkumar ran a cosmetic shop on the ground floor of his house, while he and his family lived upstairs. On the day of the incident, his wife Veena had left for Bhiwani, and their daughter, a college teacher was also away for work. Preliminary investigations revealed a suicide note in his pocket, where Rajkumar cited prolonged illness as the reason for taking his own life. In the note, he mentioned that he alone was responsible for his death and requested nearby shopkeepers to sell off his shop’s stock. His act of throwing the house keys outside before taking the extreme step indicated that he did not want his family to struggle with breaking the door upon their return.

Family members and neighbors were left in shock as they struggled to understand what led Rajkumar to end his life. His relatives mentioned that he had a small and stable family with his wife helping him in the shop. However, police suspect personal or health-related issues may have contributed to his decision. Authorities are further investigating the case while awaiting statements from his grieving wife and daughter.
