Web of Deceit: Wife, Lover and Contract Killer Nabbed for Auraiya Murder

Bhopal (The Uttam Hindu): In a shocking turn of events, a young woman named Pragati and her lover Anurag have been arrested for conspiring to murder Pragati's husband, Dilip, just 15 days after their marriage. According to police reports, Pragati and Anurag had been in a relationship for four years before Pragati's family arranged her marriage to Dilip, a businessman from Mainpuri. However, Pragati was determined to be with Anurag and hatched a plan to eliminate her husband.

On March 19, Dilip was found shot in a field near Palia village in Auraiya. He later died during treatment. The police investigation revealed that Pragati had paid Anurag ₹1 lakh to kill her husband and Anurag had hired a contract killer, Ramji Nagar, for ₹2 lakh to carry out the crime. The police have arrested Pragati, Anurag and Ramji Nagar, and recovered a 315 bore pistol and live cartridges from the accused.
