Weather in Haryana Takes a Sudden Turn: Cold Winds Bring a Drop in Temperature

Haryana (The Uttam Hindu): Haryana has witnessed a dramatic change in weather, with the scorching heat giving way to a sudden chill. Since yesterday, cold winds from the mountains have swept across the state, causing a noticeable drop in temperature. This shift in weather is expected to continue today as well.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the activation of a Western Disturbance has led to northwesterly winds blowing across the region. These cold winds have caused a significant dip in temperatures, with the maximum temperature falling by more than eight degrees on Friday. The weather is expected to remain dry in Haryana until April 2, although intermittent changes in wind patterns may cause a slight drop in daytime temperatures due to light to moderate wind speeds.
Farmers' Advisory: Keep Weather in Mind While Irrigating Crops
Farmers in Haryana should take note of the changing weather conditions, especially regarding irrigation. If vegetable and fruit plants require water, irrigation can be done. However, if the last watering was not done, it is crucial to consider the changing weather before irrigating. With light to moderate winds expected, there could be a slight cooling effect. If wheat crops need watering, it is advised to wait for two to three days before irrigating to avoid overwatering. Keeping these factors in mind will help farmers make informed decisions and safeguard their crops against the unpredictable weather.
