Bharatpur (The Uttam Hindu): In an extraordinary display of devotion, 60-year-old Sant Kedar Katara from Rajasthan's Roopwas town has undertaken a remarkable spiritual journey, the Dandavat Yatra. This arduous pilgrimage, which began on October 24, 2023, will span seven years, covering an estimated 321 kilometers through relentless prostrations.

Sant Kedar, a follower of Sanatan Dharma, aims to promote the values of Hindu deities, cultural heritage, national service and social welfare through his journey. He performs an astonishing 2,100 dandavat pranams (prostrations) daily, moving forward by 300-400 meters each day. By the time he reaches the revered temple of Khatu Shyam in Sikar, Sant Kedar will have completed a staggering 17,65,551 dandavat pranams. So far, he has covered approximately 132 kilometers, receiving a grand welcome from devotees at Manpur Chauraha on the Jaipur-Agra National Highway.

This marks Sant Kedar's 13th Kanak Dandavat Yatra to Khatu Shyam, with each journey strengthening his belief in the Hindu deity, Baba Khatu Shyam. His unique mobile chariot, a transformed motorcycle carrying an eternal flame dedicated to Khatu Shyam, serves as his shelter during the journey. Sant Kedar's incredible journey has inspired unwavering support from devotees, who provide him with essential supplies, ensuring his journey continues without hindrance.
