Violence Breaks Out During Holi Procession in Masjid Wali Gali, Several Injured, Vehicles and Shops Burnt.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A violent clash broke out between two parties during the Holi procession on Friday evening in the Ghodthambha area of Giridih district of Jharkhand. After reaching Ghodthambha Chowk, there was an altercation over the procession passing through the mosque street, after which stone pelting started between the two parties. This worsened the situation. The police present on the spot tried to stop the stone pelting, but the situation went completely out of control. Violence increased soon and incidents of arson also took place, in which many shops, bikes and four-wheelers were set on fire.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, SP Dr. Bimal Kumar, DDC Smita Kumari, Khorimahua SDPO Rajendra Prasad and police from many police stations reached the spot. After a lot of effort, the police brought the situation under control and drove away the miscreants. SP Dr. Bimal Kumar said that the police is identifying the miscreants and they will be arrested soon. In this violent incident, both the sides clashed with each other for about an hour. At present, peace prevails in the area and police surveillance has been increased.
A similar incident has also been reported from Buldhana in Maharashtra. During the Holi festival in Khamgaon taluka of Buldhana district, two groups got into a dispute over playing DJ, after which stone pelting took place. This incident is said to have happened in Aawar village at 6 pm on Friday. The police took immediate action detained 20 persons and controlled the situation by reaching the spot. It is being said that at present there is peace in the area. At the same time, policemen have been deployed to deal with any situation, so that no untoward incident happens again.
