Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): The State Special Operation Cell in Amritsar has apprehended two individuals accused of hurling a hand grenade at the Islamabad Police Station. This arrest has uncovered a narco-terror module reportedly operated by handlers based abroad. The grenade attack on the police station occurred on December 17. According to the DGP, the arrested suspects, Gurjeet Singh (a resident of Dande, Amritsar Rural) and Baljeet Singh (a resident of Chappa, Tarn Taran), were also involved in drug and weapons smuggling. The police recovered 1.4 kg of heroin, one hand grenade, and two pistols from their possession.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspects were acting under the instructions of Babbar Khalsa International terrorists operating from abroad, including Happy Pasiyan, Saathi Jeevan Fauji, and Gopi Navanshaharia, who have claimed responsibility for the attack.

Police have intensified their efforts to identify and apprehend other individuals linked to this module. So far, 16 associates of Happy Pasiyan have been arrested, and three suspects were killed in Uttar Pradesh after fleeing there following a blast in Gurdaspur. Authorities continue to work on tracing the network based on the interrogation of the arrested individuals.
