Trump Tariff Shock: Sensex, Nifty Tumble Following US Market Slump

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump has announced Reciprocal Tariff, the effect of which was clearly seen on the global markets as well as the Indian stock market. On Friday, the fifth trading day of the week, the Sensex fell by 500 points. At the same time, the Nifty fell by 200 points and was seen trading near 23,000.
Wall Street also got a big shock as
President Trump has announced that the US will now impose a tariff of at least 10% on all imported products. This rate can go up to 25% on products imported from China, Vietnam, Indonesia and the European Union (EU). A total of 54% tariff has been imposed on China, 46% on Vietnam, 49% on Cambodia and 32% on Indonesia.
Yesterday's market condition
On the fourth day of the trading week, the market opened in the red zone and the trend of decline continued throughout the day. BSE Sensex closed at 76,295.36 with a decline of 322 points. NSE Nifty closed at 23,242.00 with a decline of 0.39%. Stocks like BSE Limited, Tejas Network, Persistent Systems, Bajaj Finance and Infosys were the most active on NSE.
