Tragic Expressway Crash: Tempo Traveler Carrying Devotees to Ayodhya Hits Parked Bus, 4 Dead

Barabanki (The Uttam Hindu): On Sunday morning, a speeding mini bus (tempo traveller) coming from Maharashtra on Purvanchal Expressway in Barabanki district hit a bus parked on the roadside from behind. Four people died in this accident. According to the information, three people died on the spot and one person died during treatment in the hospital. At the same time, 19 passengers are injured in this accident. All the injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Near Gangapur village of Lonikatra police station area, a bus going from Chhattisgarh to Ayodhya was standing on the side of the road due to a breakdown. Meanwhile, a speeding minibus coming from Maharashtra hit the bus from behind.
After the accident, there was chaos on the expressway. On the information of the passersby present on the spot, Lonikatra police immediately reached the spot. After this, the local people and the police took the injured out of the bus. On receiving the information about the accident, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dinesh Kumar Singh also reached the spot and gave instructions to speed up the relief and rescue work. After the accident, the police admitted all the injured to the nearby Gosaiganj Community Health Center (CHC) in Lucknow, while some were referred to Lucknow Trauma Center as their condition was critical.
Four people including Deepak, Sunil and woman Anasuya of Nanded district of Maharashtra died in the accident. It is being told that the accident was so severe that it took hours to take out the bodies. According to the information, there were 23 people in the mini bus, who were going to Ayodhya after bathing in Maha Kumbh. After the accident, many passengers are in shock and their relatives are praying for their safety in the hospital. The administration has assured compensation to the relatives of the deceased.
Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh said that a tragic accident has taken place on the Purvanchal Expressway. A bus from Chhattisgarh was going to Ayodhya, which had broken down and was being repaired by standing on the side of the road. Meanwhile, a minibus going from Maharashtra to Ayodhya collided with it from behind. In the accident, three people travelling in the minibus died on the spot, while one passenger died in the hospital. The minibus has been removed from the road and the passengers were sent to their destination by other vehicles
