Tragedy Strikes Bathinda: Bus Plunges into Drain, 10 Dead and Dozens Injured

BATHINDA (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic bus accident occurred near Jeevan Singh Wala village in Bathinda on Friday. A bus belonging to the Guru Kashi Company lost control and plunged into a drain, resulting in the deaths of 10 people and leaving over 24 others injured.

The accident took place when the bus was traveling from Talwandi Sabo to Bathinda, carrying around 50 passengers. Upon receiving the news, local authorities and NDRF teams quickly reached the scene to begin rescue and relief operations. The injured were promptly transported to the Civil Hospital. The cause of the bus falling into the drain is still under investigation.

Local MLA Jagrup Singh Gill visited the hospital to check on the condition of the injured. He reported that five people died at the scene, while five others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. He instructed officials to ensure the best medical care for the injured and assured all possible support to the affected families.
