Tragedy Strikes: 8 Women Killed as Tractor Falls Into Well; Rescue Ops Underway

Nanded (The Uttam Hindu): A major incident has come to light today in Nanded, Maharashtra. A tractor carrying women labourers fell into a well here. 8 people have died in this incident. This accident happened in Alegaon Shivra, Nanded. It is feared that some women may be trapped in the well. Rescue work is currently going on at the spot.

Tragic accident: Tractor carrying women labourers fell into a well, 8 died; rescue operation underway : According to the information, the incident took place at around 9 am in Alegaon of Nanded area. In Hingoli district, women labourers were going to the field to harvest turmeric on a tractor. The driver was not aware that there was a well on the way. As a result, the tractor fell directly into the well. As soon as the tractor fell into the well, there was shouting and screaming. After the incident, some passersby passing by informed the administration. After this, the administration team reached the spot.

8 people died on the spot in the incident. Many women drowned in the well. Therefore the death toll is not clear yet. However, the rescue of other women who fell into the well is going on. The rescue team is taking the women out of the well with the help of rope. Some women have been pulled out of the water during the rescue operation.
