Terror at 30,000 Feet: Indigo Flight Shakes Mid-Air for 30 Minutes

Ranchi (The Uttam Hindu): IndiGo flight (6 E 5298) coming from Delhi to Ranchi became a victim of terrible turbulence on Thursday. Due to bad weather, the plane kept shaking badly in the air for about 30 minutes, due to which the lives of the passengers were in danger. There was a lot of screaming inside the plane, however, due to the presence of mind of the pilot, the plane was landed safely.
Passenger narrated the horrifying scene.
Satya Prakash, a passenger travelling in the plane, while sharing this horrifying experience, said that the Indigo plane took off from Delhi Airport for Ranchi at 1:20 pm on Thursday. When the plane was about 350 km away from Delhi, then at around 2:20 pm, at an altitude of 40 thousand feet, the plane suddenly started to shake badly.
He said, "Nothing was visible clearly from inside the plane, the visibility was absolutely zero. Seeing the plane shaking like this, all the passengers were terrified. This was the first such experience for me, so I was even more scared. The condition of many passengers was such as if this was the last day of their life."
Passengers and crew members started screaming
According to Satya Prakash, the situation became worse at around 2:45 pm when the passengers and crew members sitting inside the plane also started screaming out of fear.
Crew member consoled them.
In this extremely difficult and scary situation, a crew member of the plane, Tanya, showed courage. She went to the frightened passengers and encouraged them. She told the passengers, "There is no need to be afraid. We have landed the plane safely in worse weather than this. All of you please remain calm. We all have to face this difficult situation together."
Safe landing due to pilot's presence of mind
After faltering in the air for about half an hour and uncertainty, the pilot displayed his skill and presence of mind and landed the plane safely at Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport at 3:38 pm. The passengers heaved a sigh of relief only after the plane landed safely on the ground.
Passenger Satya Prakash said that after safe landing, the pilot informed that due to extremely bad weather and zero visibility, there was a lot of difficulty in handling the plane.
