The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of this statement and heard the matter. During this, the bench of two judges said that what kind of thing is this that the woman herself has invited trouble? How can you say this? It is not appropriate to make such a statement. Especially judges should be careful while saying such things.
Let us tell you that this case is from Kasganj district of UP, where a woman had lodged a complaint on 12 January 2022. The woman alleged that while returning home in the evening with her 14-year-old daughter, three youths of the village, Pawan, Akash and Ashok, met her on the way. They offered to take her home on their bike. The woman made the daughter sit on the bike. In such a situation, the three youths tried to take off the daughter's clothes and rape her forcibly on the way. Hearing the daughter's screams, the local people reached the spot and the three accused fled from the spot showing a pistol. During the hearing of this case, the High Court had said that the woman herself had invited trouble.
