SSP Aditya Cracks Down on Drugs in Gurdaspur: 3 SHOs Suspended, 250 Cops Shifted

Gurdaspur (The Uttam Hindu): SSP Aditya has taken action against drug smugglers in Gurdaspur. He has suspended three police station incharges, including SHO Gurmeet Singh of City Police Station for negligence, and transferred 250 police personnel and warned several officers.
Adopting a zero tolerance policy on drug abuse, SSP Aditya has also removed SHOs of Bahrampur police station and Purana Shala police station from the field. Along with this, the in-charge of Joda Chhatran police post has been transferred, while the Bariyar police post in-charge has been warned and threatened with suspension in case of next mistake.
There is a stir in the police
department due to this strict action of SSP. This is the first time in a long time that an SSP has done such a big surgery in Gurdaspur. According to sources, even more strict steps can be taken in the coming days.
Laxity officers will not be spared: SSP Aditya
SSP Aditya said in a stern tone that no officer showing negligence in preventing drug abuse will be spared. He bluntly said, "Either work honestly, or quit your job!"
It is worth mentioning that some time back the in-charge of police station Ghuman Kalan was also suspended for not registering an FIR for attempted murder. This action of the SSP is a clear message that now no laxity will be tolerated in the war against drug abuse.
SHO Gurmeet Singh
who was posted in City Police Station for three years was also finally sent to the line. Due to his political connections, he returned from leave and got a posting again, but SSP Aditya did not give any concession this time.
Appeal to the public - Give information about drug sellers, identity will remain secret
SSP Aditya has appealed to the public to give information about drug smugglers to the police. The identity of the informers will be kept completely secret, along with this, drug addicts are being sent to de-addiction centers for treatment.
