Shots Fired at YouTuber's Associate's House; 20 Empty Shells Recovered, Probe Launched

Muzaffarpur (The Uttam Hindu): On Monday morning, miscreants riding a bike opened fire indiscriminately at the house of YouTuber and comedian Mani Meraj team member Mohammad Saifullah Ansari near the Business Board of the Municipal Council located in Navanagar Nizamat Ward No. 9 of the local police station area. 25 to 30 rounds of bullets were fired in the incident, due to which the shutter of Saifullah's readymade clothes shop and the glass on the roof of the house were badly damaged. According to the police, two miscreants of Chhotu Rana gang carried out this incident for not paying the extortion money of Rs. 10 lakh. At the time of the incident, Saifullah was at home with his family after having the Ramzan Sehri. During the firing, the miscreants were abusing and threatening to kill them. Saifullah and his family were hiding in the house due to fear.

When people started gathering around after hearing the firing, both the miscreants fled from the spot. While fleeing, the miscreants also shot a young man Ramji Das who had come out for defecation near Jhapahi Devi Sthan in Ward 17 of Nagar Parishad on Sahebganj-Nirpur road. The bullet hit Ramji's right shoulder, after which he was admitted to CHC Sahebganj. After first aid, the doctors have referred him to SKMCH for better treatment and his condition is said to be out of danger. As soon as the incident was reported, Saraiya SDPO Kumar Chandan and Sahebganj SHO Sikandar Kumar reached the spot and started investigating the case. Police have recovered two live cartridges and 20 empty shells from the spot. Sahebganj SHO has confirmed the seizure of 10 shells. However, Saifullah has lodged an FIR against unknown miscreants in the police station, in which extortion has not been mentioned.

Rural Superintendent of Police Vidya Sagar said that preliminary investigation has revealed the involvement of miscreants of Chhotu Rana gang in the firing incident. The YouTuber and his family have informed the police about the extortion demand of Rs 10 lakh. This firing was done with the aim of spreading terror if the extortion was not paid. The Superintendent of Police said that an FIR has been registered on the application of the YouTuber. Chhotu Singh alias Pratap Rana alias Chhotu Rana, a resident of Balthi Narsingh village of Sahebganj, is operating his gang from Indonesia. His gang is active in many criminal activities like extortion, murder, bank robbery and robbery in jewellery shops in many states of the country. The police has announced a reward of three lakh rupees on Chhotu Rana. To avoid arrest, he first fled to Nepal and then from there to Indonesia. On January 18, the police had also pasted a notice at his house when he was absconding in the case of firing at a restaurant in Sadar police station area, but he is still out of the reach of the police
