Several dead, 5 months baby among victims, double-decker bus collides with truck
Aligarh (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic accident on the Yamuna Expressway in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, claimed the lives of five people, including a five-month-old baby and a woman. The incident occurred when a private double-decker bus, traveling from Delhi to Azamgarh, crashed into a truck from behind. The force of the impact caused severe damage to the bus, trapping passengers and bodies inside.
In addition to the fatalities, 15 people were injured, including an 11-month-old girl, a five-year-old child, three women, and nine men. Local residents helped rescue the injured by breaking open the bus windows. The injured were then transported to Kailash Hospital in Jewar for medical treatment.
Police quickly arrived at the scene and sent the bodies to the mortuary for postmortem. While three of the victims have been identified, the remaining two are yet to be recognized. The bus, operated by Krishna Travels from Faizabad, was involved in the crash, which occurred in the Tappal Police Station area. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
