New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the Calcutta High Court's decision that quashed the appointments of around 25,000 teachers and non-teaching staff in West Bengal schools, citing widespread irregularities and fraud in the recruitment process.
Big blow to Mamata government from Supreme Court, decision to cancel 25,000 appointments upheld: The Supreme Court said that huge irregularities were committed in the entire process. It is right to declare the entire selection process faulty due to widespread irregularities. However, the court clarified that those recruited earlier are not required to return the salary received during their job.
