Samay Raina to Appear for Questioning on Friday in Obscene Jokes Case

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): YouTuber and comedian Samay Raina may appear before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Friday in the 'India's Got Latent' controversy case. The cell had sent him a summons on Tuesday and asked him to appear for questioning on March 27 or 28.
Maharashtra Cyber Cell recorded the statement of Samay Raina on Monday. The Cyber Cell has called him again for questioning. In his statement, the comedian had expressed regret over the incident that happened on the show.
In a statement to the officials, he said, "I will be careful next time so that something like this does not happen again. My mental state is not good because of this whole matter. My Canada tour was also not good. I am sorry for what I said, I know what I said was wrong."
The comedian recently shared a note in the stories section of Instagram, in which he gave information about coming to India. Along with this, he assured the audience that the money for their tickets will be refunded soon. Raina wrote, "Hello, friends I am rescheduling my India tour. You all will get the refund soon, see you soon."
There was a nationwide protest after podcaster-YouTuber Ranbir Allahabadia made an offensive comment on Samay Raina's show. Complaints were filed against Ranbir as well as others associated with the show in Mumbai and Guwahati. Cyber Cell and Mumbai Police are investigating Raina's show 'India's Got Latent'.
Let us tell you that after the obscene comment of YouTuber-podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia on the show 'India's Got Latent', Samay Raina had removed all the episodes of the show from YouTube.
Meanwhile, Ranvir Allahabadia has apologized twice on social media. Ranvir Allahabadia, who was caught using abusive language, appeared before Assam Police in Guwahati on March 7. The Supreme Court allowed Allahabadia to resume his podcast on the condition that he will maintain "standards of decency and morality". The court clarified that Allahabadia's show should not comment on cases pending in the court.
Last week, the Guwahati Crime Branch questioned another YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani in connection with the 'India's Got Latent' case. The YouTuber reached the Crime Branch office, where he was questioned for a long time.
