Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The Indian Navy has registered a case at Mumbai's Cuffe Parade Police Station in connection with alleged financial mismanagement of Rs 78 crore at the United Services Club (US Club) located in Colaba area of ​​Mumbai. Considering the seriousness of the matter and the financial angle, the case has been handed over to the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police for further investigation. Actually, the United Services Club (US Club) is operated by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. After the official complaint of the Navy, a case has been registered against two individuals and a non-governmental organization (NGO) for fraud and forgery.

According to the complaint, the accused were involved in financial irregularities in the club between October 2024 and January 2005, which has caused huge financial loss to the organization. A Mumbai Police official said that this institution named US Club is about 97 years old. During the regular audit conducted by the secretary of this club, irregularities in the accounting of money were detected. After this, a special audit was conducted by chartered accountants, which also revealed major irregularities in the accounting of money.

After the receipt of these audit reports, the club management ordered a detailed investigation into the matter, which revealed many important information. After this, the Indian Navy contacted the Mumbai Police and registered an FIR in the case. At present, the Mumbai Police has registered a case under sections 316 (4), 336 (2), 344 and 61 (2) of the BNS and started further investigation.
