Hyderabad (Uttam Hindu News)- There is news of a part of the roof of the tunnel of Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana collapsing. According to the information, 8 to 10 workers are feared to be trapped in the tunnel.

It is being told that the incident happened when some workers had gone inside for work, when the roof collapsed 12-13 kilometers inside the tunnel. However, a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office indicated that some people have been injured without giving the number. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed the District Collector, Superintendent of Police and other officials to reach the spot for relief work. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, State Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Government Advisor on Irrigation Matters Adityanath Das and other irrigation officials have left for the spot in a special helicopter. Police said that the team of the construction company has gone inside the tunnel for assessment and has confirmed that the workers are trapped. At present, relief and rescue work is going on.
