Robert Vadra Clarifies on Pahalgam Attack: 'I Stand With India, Always Will"

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Robert Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, who was embroiled in controversy over his old statement on the terrorist incident that took place on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has given a clarification. He said that I stand with India and will always stand with it.
On Monday, he wrote in a Facebook post that I am writing these words with complete honesty and truth. So I want it to be taken in the same spirit. Vadra said that what I said earlier has not been fully understood in its full context because my intentions have been misinterpreted.
He further wrote, “Let me admit that it is my responsibility to clarify them. I am committed to clarifying myself with honesty, transparency and respect. I have chosen to remain silent for a few days. But, this should not be construed as inaction, indifference or lack of patriotism. In fact, it is because of my deep love for my country, my immense respect for truth and my commitment to integrity that I have taken the time to reflect before speaking.”
Vadra said, "Let me be very clear about where I stand and have always stood, I completely condemn the horrific terrorist attack that took the lives of innocent people and tore apart families. I have always stood and will always stand with India. He further wrote that there is no justification - political, religious or ideological - that can ever excuse the use of violence against helpless people."
Vadra finally reminded of Mahatma Gandhi's mantra of non-violence. He further wrote, "I believe that terror in any form is an attack not only on individuals but on the soul of humanity. It destroys the basic right of every human being to live without fear. No cause is so justifiable that it justifies the shedding of innocent blood. I call upon all of us to remember what Gandhiji taught us, non-violence is not passive. It is the most courageous option we can choose."
Let us tell you that Vadra had said on the Pahalgam incident that the Muslims of the country are feeling weak and this incident is a message for PM Modi.
