Surrey, BC (The Uttam Hindu): Surrey RCMP has announced one of the largest drug seizures in its history following an extensive, yearlong investigation into a criminal organization. The investigation, led by the Surrey RCMP Drug Unit, began in June 2023 and resulted in a massive seizure of illicit drugs, firearms, cash, and vehicles across multiple cities, including Surrey, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Vancouver, and Richmond.

The seizure includes a staggering quantity of drugs and dangerous weapons:

Drugs Seized:

36.4 kilograms of Fentanyl

23 kilograms of MDMA

20.4 kilograms of Cocaine

23 kilograms of Methamphetamine

1,300 counterfeit and prescription pills

16 kilograms of Benzodiazepines

8.7 kilograms of Xylazine (commonly known as “tranq”)

Firearms and Equipment Seized:

6 prohibited firearms, including 2 ghost guns and 4 smuggled weapons

Ammunition, magazines, and body armor

Vehicles and Cash Seized:

$119,000 in Canadian cash

A 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

A 2020 Kia Forte

The RCMP operation led to the arrest of three individuals, aged between 24 and 47, who have been taken into custody. The investigation was the result of a coordinated effort by various law enforcement agencies and highlights the ongoing efforts to dismantle organized criminal networks and keep the community safe. RCMP officials praised the success of the operation, emphasizing the scale of the seizure and the impact it will have on reducing the availability of dangerous drugs and weapons in the region.
