According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks across the country will remain closed for a total of 15 days next month, primarily due to state-specific festivals, religious observances, and national holidays.

Bank Holidays in January 2025

1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th January

- On January 1, some states will observe a holiday for New Year's Day.

- January 2 will see a bank closure due to New Year celebrations and Mannam Jayanti.

- January 5 is the second Sunday of the month, so banks will remain closed nationwide.

- January 6 marks Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti, and banks in Haryana and Punjab will remain closed.

11th, 12th, 14th, and 15th January

- On January 11, the second Saturday of the month, all banks will observe a holiday.

- January 12 will be a holiday due to Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and Sunday.

- On January 14, banks in several states will be closed for Makar Sankranti and Pongal.

- January 15 will see a bank holiday in Assam for Magh Bihu and Thiruvalluvar Day.

16th, 19th, 22nd, and 23rd January

- January 16 will be a holiday in Arunachal Pradesh for Kanuma Pandugu

- January 19 is the third Sunday, resulting in nationwide bank closures.

- January 22 will be a holiday for Imoin, and January 23 will see closures for Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti

25th, 26th, and 30th January

- On January 25, the fourth Saturday of the month, all banks will remain closed.

- January 26, Republic Day, will observe a national bank holiday.

- January 30 will be a holiday in Sikkim due to Sonam Lhosar
