Pushpa Star Allu Arjun Wins Bail, Set to Walk Free from Custody
Hyderabad (The Uttam Hindu): In a major development in the case related to the tragic stampede during the Pushpa 2 screening, the Telangana High Court has granted interim bail to Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. The actor had been arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody by the Nampally Court in Hyderabad earlier. However, the court has now provided him with relief by granting bail.
The incident occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2 when a huge crowd gathered at the theater to see the actor. The overcrowding led to a stampede, which tragically claimed the life of a woman, identified as Revathi. Following the incident, the police filed a case against Allu Arjun, the theater management, and his security team. In response, Allu Arjun approached the Telangana High Court, seeking the cancellation of the FIR filed against him. The court accepted his petition and granted him bail shortly after his arrest.
Meanwhile, in a surprising turn of events, Revathi’s husband has expressed his willingness to withdraw the case. He and his family have reportedly indicated that they are considering dropping the charges against Allu Arjun. It is believed that the actor’s offer of a ₹25 lakh compensation has played a role in their decision. Allu Arjun's PR team confirmed that the family had expressed this wish.
Revathi’s husband, in a statement to the media, said, "I am ready to withdraw the case. I have no information about Allu Arjun’s arrest. He is not responsible for my wife’s death in the stampede." If the family decides to withdraw the case, it could significantly ease the legal complications for the actor.
