Bathinda(The Uttam Hindu): The National Investigation Agency conducted early morning raids across Punjab on Wednesday, targeting drug traffickers. The raids were carried out in the districts of Bhatinda, Muktsar Sahib, and Mansa as part of an ongoing crackdown on narcotics smuggling.

Sources report that NIA teams raided a house, which lies close to Bhatinda Road Bypass in Green Avenue. These teams seem to be zeroing down on places linked to networks of drug trading. Meanwhile, in Muktsar Sahib, a raid was conducted on the home of a prisoner named Amandeen lodged in Nabha Jail. Amandeen has already been held guilty in one case pertaining to the NDPS Act.

The NIA operation seems part of a wider effort to bust the drug trafficking infrastructure that has long been a thorn in the side of law enforcement agencies in Punjab. To date, raids are still ongoing, with no details on any apprehensions or discoveries. This operation signifies the NIA's further intensification towards curbing the drug menace in the region.
