Punjab MP Amritpal Singh Announces Party Name as 'Akali Dal' at Maghi Fair

Sri Muktsar Sahib (The Uttam Hindu): Today the name of Amritpal Singh's political party was announced in Sri Muktsar Sahib. Amritpal Singh's political party has been named Akali Dal Waris Punjab. It was officially announced on Tuesday at the Maghi fair in Muktsar Sahib. Amritpal Singh, MP from Khadoor Sahib, is currently lodged in Dibrugarh jail.

Amritpal will be the president of the party. Amritpal Singh's formation of a political party is the biggest challenge for Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), because Akali Dal calls itself the biggest supporter of the sect. The graph of Akali Dal has fallen rapidly on the issue of incidents of desecration of Shri Guru Granth Sahib in 2015 and pardon to Ram Rahim. The sectarian vote bank has moved away from Akali Dal. Before becoming an MP, Amritpal Singh was handling the organization 'Waris Punjab De'. This organization was formed by Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu.
