Protector Turned Predator: Father Kills 4 Children, Commits Suicide in Shocking Act of Violence

Shahjahanpur (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational case has come to light from Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Where a father committed suicide by hanging himself after slitting the throats of his four children with a sharp weapon. This incident has created a sensation in the area. The police has reached the spot and started investigation. Initial investigation has revealed that the young man was mentally disturbed.

Protector turned predator: Father killed 4 children and then committed suicide, slit throat of innocent children with sharp weapon: Rajiv Katheria (36 years) lived with his wife Kanti Devi and four children in Manpur Chachari village of Roza police station area. His wife Kanti Devi went to her maternal home in village Karatoli on Wednesday. Rajiv and the four children were at home. During this time he committed this crime. Rajiv's father Prithviraj who lives next to his house called his grandson for tea on Thursday morning but there was no response from inside. Despite calling for a long time when no one came out, he peeped inside the house. He screamed after seeing the scene inside. His soul trembled.

The throats of all the four children were slit with a sharp weapon. Rajiv was hanging from a hook inside with a sari noose. On receiving the information of the incident, SP Rajesh Dwivedi reached the spot with the police force. Father Prithviraj said that Rajiv had met with an accident a year ago.

Since then he was mentally disturbed. Sometimes he would lose his temper and start doing weird things. SP Rajiv Dwivedi said that the case is under investigation. Prima facie it appears that the youth was under mental pressure.
