Dhanbad (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident involving a school principal has come to light in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. During a celebration of "Pain Day" by 10th-grade students after their exams the principal allegedly became angry and forced the girls to remove their shirts sending them home wearing only their blazers.

When the students’ families learned about this, they were outraged and went to the District Collector’s office in Dhanbad demanding strict action against the principal. Following the uproar, DC Madhavi Mishra ordered an inquiry and assured appropriate action. The incident has caused widespread outrage across the state with parents comparing the act to a "Talibani mentality" and insisting on severe punishment for the principal.

The district administration confirmed that they are taking the matter seriously. A committee has been formed to investigate the incident which will visit the school and determine the facts. The administration has assured that the students’ upcoming exams will not be affected by this incident. Parents explained that after the exams the girls were writing on each other’s shirts as a way of celebrating and expressing joy. However, the principal intervened ordered the girls to hand over their shirts, and callously stated, “We don’t care how you go home, whether in blazers or otherwise.” This left many students humiliated and upset.

One parent expressed their frustration saying, “This is deeply shameful. The school authorities claimed that allowing the girls to go home in written-on shirts would damage the school’s reputation. But sending them home in blazers hasn’t tarnished their image?” Another parent added, “Students should not be treated like this. Out of 20 girls some had to change shirts, while others were sent home in blazers. This is absolutely unacceptable and an insult to the children.”
