Prayagraj Horror: Class 9 Student Gang-Raped in Restaurant, 5 Arrested

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A heart-wrenching case of gang rape has shaken Prayagraj, with five people, including two real brothers, arrested for the heinous crime. The victim, a 14-year-old class 9 student was allegedly raped on March 5 and threatened into silence. The accused include e-rickshaw driver Aamir, his brother Shahrukh, father Haroon, mother Ashiya and hotel operator Baijnath alias Azad. The police have registered a case under sections of gang rape, POCSO and threatening.

THE TWISTED TALE

The victim's ordeal began when Aamir, who used to drop her to school, took her to a restaurant on the National Highway. There, she was gang-raped by multiple men, including Aamir, and forced into prostitution. When the victim's family realized she was missing on March 28, they tracked down Aamir's address and confronted him. However, they were threatened and the victim returned home shortly after.

JUSTICE SERVED?

The police have arrested all five accused and sent the victim for medical examination. The restaurant where the crime took place has also been sealed. Inspector Handia Brij Kishore Gautam confirmed that a case was registered on the complaint of the victim's mother and that all accused were arrested.

BAHERIA RAPE CASE

In a separate incident, a four-year-old girl was raped by her cousin in Baheria area. When the victim's father confronted the accused, he was attacked and beaten with sticks.

The police have registered a case and arrested the accused, who is also a minor. Two people who beat the victim's father were arrested and sent to jail for disturbing the peace.
