Georgia (The Uttam Hindu): A 12-year-old boy from Tifton, Georgia is recovering from second-degree burns after a sleepover prank went horribly wrong. The boy was asleep at a neighbor’s home when his friends allegedly poured scalding water on his face causing serious injuries. The incident occurred while the other boys aged 12 to 15 were playing video games. According to his mother, Tiffany West one of the boys thought it would be “funny” to pour the hot water. The injured boy was rushed to a burn center in Augusta for surgery and is now recovering at home.

The three boys involved were arrested but later released to their families with court hearings scheduled next month. West expressed her anguish over the ordeal, saying she was “mad, hurt in shock” and focused on getting her son help. The boy’s aunt, Nachelle Austile shared that he felt betrayed by the friends he trusted, describing the incident as “horrible.” The family is now grappling with financial difficulties as both West and her partner are unable to work while caring for the boy.

Despite the challenges, the family remains hopeful about his recovery. West thanked supporters for their love and encouragement in a Facebook post, calling her son a “warrior.” The boy faces weeks of healing and will require counseling to rebuild trust. Second-degree burns typically leave scars but his family is optimistic about his strength and resilience.
