Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): To ensure a smoother power supply and reduce power cuts during the summer, Powercom East Division is installing new transformers and enhancing the capacity of existing ones across the city. Xeon Jaspal Singh, an engineer at Powercom, stated that several substations have already been upgraded, including Babarik Chowk, Leather Complex and Urban State substations.

As part of this initiative, the 20 MVA transformer at the 66 KV Focal Point-2 substation is being upgraded to a 31.5 MVA capacity. This upgrade aims to alleviate the issue of overloaded power supply in the industrial area. Jaspal further explained that this work will take three days, from March 1 to March 3, during which power will remain temporarily shut off.

To manage the load during the upgrade, the power supply will be shifted to other feeders. The affected feeders, including 11 KV Seed Corporation, Raipur Road, Basant, KC Feeder, and Mokhe Feeder (AP) of Category 2, will be without power during the day. However, supply will be restored to these feeders at night.
