New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- A plane carrying 12 Indians deported from America reached Delhi on Sunday. After deporting these Indians, America sent them to Panama from where they were brought back to their country. This is the fourth plane that has come to India carrying illegal immigrants. This time the plane landed in the national capital Delhi. Four out of the 12 were from Punjab, who were later sent to Punjab via flight. A plane carrying all these 12 people reached New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday evening.

This is the first batch of Indians to be repatriated from Panama, earlier the US had deported around 299 illegal immigrants who were attempting to enter US soil. Panama and Costa Rica have been working closely with the US to repatriate deported migrants. As part of this effort, the US has been relocating illegal immigrants from various Asian countries to these Central American countries - who have either refused to return home or whose governments have refused to accept them. Earlier, three US planes carrying illegal Indian immigrants from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and some other states had landed at Amritsar airport on February 5, February 15 and February 16.
