Petrol and Diesel Prices to Drop Soon? Minister Hardeep Puri Hints at Relief

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The long-standing demand of the people of the country to reduce the prices of petrol, diesel and gas may soon be fulfilled. Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that the prices of these fuels may come down in the coming time. He said that plans are being made to increase oil production in other countries including America, which may reduce the prices of fuel in the global market and inflation can also be controlled.
Minister Puri said that steps have already been taken to increase oil production in America. Former US President Donald Trump had said that drill, baby, drill means more oil will be extracted. Even now, America's objective is to reduce international oil prices. He said that when oil and gas production increases, the supply of oil in the market will also increase and prices may come down. The Union Minister also said that India's main goal is to buy enough oil at low prices so that the burden on the country's economy can be reduced.
Puri also clarified that there was never any intention to eliminate the use of the dollar in oil purchases. He said that most of the trade is done in dollars and it will remain so in the future. Along with this, he expressed confidence that India has established contact with the new US President Donald Trump administration, and the relations between the two countries in the field of energy will become stronger. Puri said that India now imports oil from 40 countries. These include Argentina. Since there is now sufficient supply of oil in the world, oil producing countries will have to reconsider their production, which may further reduce oil prices in the global market
