Katra (The Uttam Hindu): Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has been booked along with seven others for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, near the revered Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. The group, which includes Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskina, was found consuming liquor on the hotel premises despite being informed that alcohol and non-vegetarian food were not allowed due to the hotel's proximity to the shrine. A complaint was filed at the Katra Police Station on March 15, leading to the registration of an FIR against the eight individuals for "violating the law of the land" and "hurting the sentiments of people".
The Jammu and Kashmir Police has set up a team to apprehend the accused and has emphasized its commitment to zero tolerance for such acts at religious sites. Orry, a well-known social media personality, is often seen at high-profile Bollywood events and parties, and has ties with several young Bollywood stars. The incident has sparked attention due to Orry's social media influence and the sensitivity of the location.
