New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After long talks and back-and-forths, the Wakf Amendment Bill is set to drop in the Lok Sabha this Wednesday — and the buzz? It’s almost guaranteed to pass with all the drama in between. But hold up, don’t expect it to be smooth sailing. The opposition’s not happy and they're ready to make some noise!

Who’s With the Gov’t? Who’s Against It?

The NDA's power is no joke, with JDU and TDP firm in their support. They've got the numbers, they’ve got the whips, and they’ve got the backing of Kiren Rijiju, the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs who’s feeling pretty confident. He’s pushing to bring the bill to the House right after Question Hour wraps up at noon.

But here’s the twist — even with all the support, there’s sure to be some wild moments in the House with the opposition. Congress and other big parties like INDIA aren't backing down. Opposition MPs may just walk out, making things even spicier.

The Number Game: Who's Got the Majority?

Here’s the deal: The Lok Sabha has 542 seats. BJP alone holds 240 seats and with their allies, they’ve got a comfortable 293 total. Opposition? They're sitting at 237. Game’s not over yet though — some independent MPs and smaller parties like Chandrashekhar’s Azad Samaj Party are still holding their cards close to the chest.

The Big Walkout?

As expected the INDIA alliance is unified in their opposition to this bill. They’ll be calling their MPs to stay in the House but will they walk out in protest? This one's a nail-biter.

What's Next? Rajya Sabha Time!

If the Wakf Amendment Bill passes the Lok Sabha, it's set to make its way to the Rajya Sabha the next day (Thursday). Will the NDA be able to keep it rolling with 125 total members backing them? Or will the opposition’s 88 members team up and turn the tables?
