Mizoram (The Uttam Hindu): For Ramzirmawii, a resident of Khatla East in Aizawl New Year’s Eve turned into an unforgettable milestone. What began as a routine hope for a healthy delivery evolved into a historic moment when she gave birth to India's first Generation Beta baby.

Ramzirmawii, 28, was admitted to Synod Hospital in Durtlang on December 31, 2024 after her water broke around 6 p.m. After hours of labor her baby boy, Frankie Remruatdika Zadeng, arrived at 12:03 a.m. on January 1, 2025—three minutes into the dawn of a new era. Weighing 3.2 kg, Frankie became India’s first recorded member of Generation Beta the cohort of children born on or after January 1, 2025, marking the close of Generation Alpha (2010–2024).

The significance of Frankie’s birth was revealed later in the morning when journalists contacted the hospital to confirm details of New Year’s births. “We were thrilled to welcome our baby on New Year’s Day. The joy doubled when we found out he was the first of his generation in the country,” Ramzirmawii said.

Frankie’s middle name, Remruatdika, holds deep meaning translating roughly to “perfect planner.” Chosen by Ramzirmawii’s mother, the name celebrates the precise timing of his birth as a testament to divine planning. Frankie, the couple’s second child, is healthy as is his mother. “This new year has brought us an unforgettable blessing,” said Remruatsanga Zadeng, Frankie’s father, expressing his gratitude for the momentous occasion that will forever remain etched in their family’s history.
