New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The return of famous Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams and her partner Butch Wilmore from space has been delayed once again. NASA issued a statement on Tuesday saying that they will now have to stay on the International Space Station (ISS) till the end of March.

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who reached the ISS in June 2024 on Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, were supposed to have a mission of only eight days, but their return was postponed due to a technical fault in the spacecraft. After this, NASA had planned to send a separate spacecraft to bring them back, under which all four astronauts were to return to Earth together in February 2025.

But, NASA has now said that this mission will be delayed further. According to the new plan, the Crew-10 mission, which will bring back Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, will no longer be able to launch before March 2025. With this delay, the mission of Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore has now increased from eight months to almost nine months.

NASA has not yet disclosed the real reason for this delay. However, it is believed that this decision has been taken due to some technical problems in the spacecraft.
