“Name and Religion, Then Gunfire” — Survivor Recounts Horror of Pahalgam Attack

Pahalgam (The Uttam Hindu): An atmosphere of panic and panic prevailed in Pahalgam of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday afternoon when terrorists suddenly started indiscriminate firing on tourists and locals in the Baseran area. . An eyewitness of this attack has narrated the heart-wrenching scene of the incident. According to a female eyewitness, the attack happened when a woman was eating Bhelpuri with her husband. The terrorist came to them, asked some questions and without waiting for any answer, directly shot them. A very disturbing video related to the incident has also surfaced, in which the wife of the person who was shot is screaming and pleading people to save her husband. This video has shocked people on social media.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the attack

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has strongly condemned this terrorist attack. He told on the social media platform 'X' that the number of dead is being ascertained. He said, "This attack is much more serious and bigger than any attack targeting civilians in recent years."

The Chief Minister further said, "I am incredibly shocked by this incident. This attack on our guests is disgusting. The perpetrators of this attack are animals and inhuman, who deserve hatred. No words are enough to condemn this." He expressed deep condolences to the family of the person who lost his life in the attack.

This terrorist attack has taken place at a time when US Vice President JD Vance is on a four-day visit to India with his family. In another video that has emerged from the place of attack, many people are seen lying unconscious on the ground, covered in blood, while female tourists are crying and trying to find their loved ones. However, the authenticity of this video has not been officially confirmed yet. Security forces have cordoned off the area and started an operation to search for the attackers.
