Mound collapse during soil digging for religious event kills four women, leaves many injured
Kasganj (Uttam Hindu News): A tragic incident occurred in Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh when a group of women, who had gone to collect soil for a religious event, were trapped under a collapsing mound. The accident resulted in the deaths of four women, and several others were injured. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken note of the incident and instructed officials to rush to the site immediately.
The women were part of a satsang program in Kasganj, for which about a dozen women were tasked with gathering soil. While digging, the mound suddenly collapsed, burying the women beneath it. Local residents quickly reached the scene and began the rescue operation. By the time the police and rescue teams arrived, the villagers had already pulled the women out from under the debris.
Following the rescue, the injured women were rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared four of them dead. Five other women sustained serious injuries, with two in critical condition, who have been transferred to a higher medical facility for further treatment.
