Deoria (The Uttam Hindu): A gruesome murder case has come to light from Deoria district in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman allegedly killed her husband with the help of her paramour and attempted to dispose of the body by cutting it in two and stuffing it into a trolley bag. The incident bears chilling similarities to the Saurabh murder case in Meerut.

The victim, 38-year-old Naushad Ahmed had returned from Dubai just 10 days before the murder. On Sunday morning, a local farmer discovered a suspicious trolley bag in a field under the Tarkulwa police station area. Inside, police found a male torso wrapped in plastic. The lower half of the body was found separately, stuffed in a sack. A foreign SIM card, photocopied documents and a travel barcode with an airport tag helped confirm the identity of the deceased as Naushad.

Following the discovery, police visited Naushad’s residence and found another blood-stained suitcase, suggesting an initial failed attempt to conceal the body. His wife, Raziya, was taken into custody and during interrogation, confessed to the crime. She admitted that she, along with her lover—who is also her nephew by relation—murdered Naushad because he had become an obstacle in their illicit affair.

Police sources revealed that the extramarital relationship was known in the village and had previously led to a panchayat decision asking Raziya to end the affair. However, the relationship resumed after Naushad returned to Dubai. Despite being aware of the affair, Naushad had forgiven his wife once.

Family members and locals expressed deep sorrow and anger. Naushad’s father demanded the strictest punishment for Raziya, while the couple’s daughter expressed shame over her mother’s actions.

The police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconding lover. Forensic teams have collected crucial evidence, and investigations are ongoing.
