Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu):– In a major administrative move aimed at strengthening law and order, the Haryana government has transferred 42 IPS and 13 HPS officers. The reshuffle includes the replacement of Superintendents of Police (SPs) in 14 districts, reflecting the government's intent to tighten the grip on rising crime and public safety issues.

The transfer orders were issued late Monday night, affecting key districts including Bhiwani, Kaithal, Yamunanagar, Nuh, Palwal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Panipat, Fatehabad, Rewari, Jind, and Sirsa. Additionally, Dabwali and Hansi have been declared as separate police districts, with new SPs appointed.

Sources indicate that several MPs, MLAs, and ministers had requested Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini to review the law and order situation in their regions, leading to this large-scale reshuffle. The reshuffling is seen as a direct response to these concerns, especially in districts witnessing rising criminal activity or administrative sluggishness.

Senior officers have also been reassigned with new responsibilities. ADGP Mamta Singh now holds additional charge of ADGP IRB Bhondsi along with ADGP Crime. Dr. Mata Ravi Kiran moves to Karnal Range as ADGP, while KK Rao takes over the Hisar Range. Dr. Rajshree Singh has been appointed as Police Commissioner of Jhajjar Range.

Notably, Sangeeta Kalia, previously in headlines due to her differences with former Home Minister Anil Vij, has been appointed Joint Police Commissioner of Gurugram. Meanwhile, Shibas Kabiraj becomes the new Police Commissioner of Panchkula and has also been given additional charge of IG State Crime Record Bureau and Cyber.

The reshuffle also brings changes in the roles of several mid-level IPS and HPS officers, aligning with the government's aim to enforce stricter control over law enforcement operations. With expectations of further transfers in the IAS and HCS cadres, more changes in Haryana's administrative framework are likely in the coming days.

This large-scale reshuffle underscores the state’s focus on proactive policing and a responsive law and order system under the leadership of CM Naib Singh Saini.
