Ghaziabad (The Uttam Hindu): A truck loaded with LPG gas cylinders caught fire in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning. This led to an explosion. The sound of the blast was heard for several kilometers. Efforts are being made to extinguish the fire.

The blast took place near Bhopura Chowk on Delhi-Wazirabad Road in Thana Teela Mod area. According to eyewitnesses, a truck loaded with cylinders suddenly caught fire. After this, explosions started. The sound was heard up to two-three kilometers away. Hearing the sound of the blast, people of the area got frightened and came out of their houses. The fire brigade was informed about this incident and the work of extinguishing the fire began. According to information, there could be 150 to 200 cylinders in the truck.

Fire officer CFO Rahul Pal Singh, who reached the spot, told IANS, "Around 4:35 am today, a truck carrying LPG cylinders caught fire in Bhopura near Sahibabad station. The fire is being brought under control by the fire brigade. The fire broke out around 4:35 am and the truck carrying LPG cylinders is burning."

IANS has a video clip in which flames can be seen rising towards the sky along with the explosion. The sound of the explosion can also be heard. This scene is very terrifying. Till the time of writing the news, there is no report of any loss of life. However, people are in panic and came out of their houses and there was screaming and shouting.
