Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A major accident has occurred during the construction work near Vatava under the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project. While removing a heavy segmental launching gantry here, it slipped and fell on the railway track. It is a matter of relief that there is no news of any casualty in this accident. However, due to this incident, the rail services running on this route have been badly affected. At least 25 trains have been canceled, while the route of more than two dozen trains has been changed. According to the information, this accident happened around 11 pm on Sunday night.

According to reports, this gantry was being moved backwards after making concrete girders. Gantry is usually used in the construction of bridges. Due to this accident, the railway tracks have been damaged, although there is no damage to the viaduct. As soon as the incident was reported, the accident relief train and officials of National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) reached the spot.

According to the information received, trains of Geratpur-Watva section have been affected by this accident. A Western Railway official said that the operation of down line trains has been disrupted due to the fall of the gantry. The track repair work is being done at a fast pace. The work of making the single line operational was started only after 12 o'clock in the night. After this accident, the timings of 12833 Ahmedabad-Howrah and 19483 Ahmedabad-Barauni trains have been changed. At the same time, important trains like 12931 Mumbai-Ahmedabad Double Decker Train, 19033 Gujarat Queen and 22953 Gujarat Express have been canceled.
